What To Do At Swann Cottage

The cottage is ideally placed for enjoying walking in the white peak area of Derbyshire. The town of Belper is a short walk away and includes several interesting traditional shops and a good range of pubs and restaurants. There are many attractive hostelries in nearby villages.

If you feel the need for more focus to your day's activities here are some suggestions.

The Peak District Mining Museum is in Matlock Bath.

The National Tramway Museum houses a wide variety of trams and other rail based stock and is nearby in the village of Critch.

A journey on the privately run Peak Railway is not to be missed.

The village of Denby, home of the famous Denby pottery center is only a few miles away.

The fully working Windmill at Heage is also only a few miles away.

Visit the Old House Museum in Bakewell

Shop-aholics may like to head for The Peak Village just north of Matlock
